That safe, quiet moment of “I belong here.” Whether you’re reading about Charlie and her journey through the portal (and to herself), about Jordan and Keeley and their open, vulnerable love, my books are here to keep you company under the covers late at night. Or curled up in the window seat of an airplane. They’re here as you whisper to yourself, “just one more chapter.”
They’re here for you.
When a mythical, malevolent force threatens to tear apart the Veil between worlds, ordinary, out-of-place 24-year-old Charlie Quinn knows there’s nothing she can do to stop it.
But when Thea, her mentor – and a Guardian of The Otherworld – is murdered in Philadelphia where they live, and her childhood friend Callum from the same magic Realm crosses the void to ask for her help, the choice is simple. After locating the portal Thea guarded and finding her way into The Otherworld, Charlie realizes she’s in far more danger than she thought. Especially as a human, the odds are stacked against her in a magical land.
The clock is ticking as the Gathering – a semi-centennial celebration of the first defeat of the Darkness, the original evil in The Otherworld – is rapidly approaching, and citizens are arriving in the Capital from across the four Kingdoms in droves. But along with the visitors, there are bodies with bones and organs missing, and whispers of the dead beginning to rise…alongside the ancient black magic that’s been believed bound and dormant for centuries.
Together with Callum, who’s hiding secrets of his own, she must learn that chasing a feeling of home doesn’t mean she’ll find the place where she truly belongs, and choosing to fight doesn’t guarantee she’ll win. If she can’t trust her own instincts, innate talents, and those around her, the total collapse of the Otherworld — and our world — is just a matter of time.
I write across genres (a different type of #whychoose moment) but you’ll find similarities in each: top-tier witty banter, found family feels, juicy slow-burn romance, and plenty of adventure.
I’ve been a reader and storyteller my whole life: even my Pre-K teachers found it worth mentioning on my report cards. In 2020, I decided that because I already knew how to make sourdough bread (I’m a classically trained Pastry Chef as well), I would finally tackle a big, scary, vulnerable dream during the pandemic…drafting my first novel. I fell in love with storytelling all over again and haven’t looked back.
When I’m not writing, you can find me editing for *other* writers, reading books under the covers with my rescue kitties Gus and Pickles, traveling with my partner, and drinking enough coffee to make Lorelai Gilmore smile proudly.
